Helicopters
The BF3 has three types of helicopters: combat, reconnaissance and transport. Each of them differs in terms of use and pilotage. I would like to note right away that after the fighters, helicopters are the most difficult equipment to operate. Depending on the player's previous experience, perhaps even the most difficult ones, because they require a lot of feeling, precision and a steady hand. Russian and American helicopters are similar, but they differ in some characteristics, such as maneuverability and dimensions. It can be assumed that Russian helicopters are heavier, larger and, therefore, less maneuverable, but more resistant to damage.
The helicopter is powered by the main rotor, which creates thrust equal to the lifting force of the machine. As follows from its settings, an increase in engine power (thrust) lifts the car up, and a decrease in power causes it to fall due to gravity. The adjustment of takeoff and altitude consists of a constant balance between lift and gravity. This part should be obvious even to a layman, but difficulties can begin when trying to increase/decrease speed and maneuver sideways.
In addition, in the left column, the appearance of the weapon itself and the view through the rear sight and front sight, i.e. the "factory" version, without additional optics. Besides weapons, there are also gadgets for each class. All weapons and gadgets are in the order in which they are unlocked.
To steer the helicopter forward, tilt the handle (and, consequently, the nose of the car) down. The lower the nose drops, the faster the helicopter moves. However, when the nose is down, the car will fall down too. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to increase the engine speed accordingly so that the lifting force keeps the machine at the same level.
To actually turn the helicopter in the selected direction, use the keys/axes responsible for turning ground vehicles ([A] and [D]) without moving the joystick.
Due to this combination of rotation around its own axis, tilt of the propeller and balancing the thrust of the engine, it is possible to perform very complex maneuvers that cannot be reproduced on other aircraft. A good example of such a maneuver is the pirouette, which consists in moving the helicopter in a circle so that the nose of the car is always pointing inward. You can and even should use such maneuvers to shoot at vehicles, other ground targets, and enemy helicopters.
